The team The team This would be an ideal opportunity for a health professional (such as a Pharmacist, Nurse or Physiotherapist with a prescribing background) looking to develop their career in lifestyle medicine and gain experience in digital health. Our current focus is on healthy weight loss management and coaching, but as we progress there is potential for more possibilities.
Your mission at NumanThe clinician will conduct remote consultations with patients through our online consultation platform, communicating via asynchronous messaging.
The role involves undertaking phone consultations to discuss weight loss based on underlying principles of lifestyle medicine holistic approaches to healthy living. You will also be prescribing for patients presenting for Weight Loss if clinically appropriate. You would be expected to prescribe within your clinical competence for any existing and new conditions/treatments for Weight Loss in accordance with our standard operating procedures. You will use our online consultation platform to make remote prescribing decisions.This is a great opportunity to influence the direct care of citizens through an online consultation model supported by a clinical team. We have full-time and part-time options available.What experience you bring
Assess and manage patients remotely, this includes prescribing medication from our defined formulary
Conduct in-depth consultations with patients actively trying to lose weight, using principles of lifestyle management to provide patients with holistic management plans
Deal with medical queries and problem-solve for our patients
Use live chat to communicate/engage/motivate patients
Review and report on diagnostics such as blood tests results where needed
Maintain patient records with detail, accuracy and efficiency
Implement learning from any incidents and complaints
Take part in ongoing clinical quality improvement
Provide high-quality clinical care aligned with national guidelines
Proactively identify and voice concerns about clinical risks
Engage with any new conditions or treatments that Numan offers
Willing to learn and upskill to provide a wider range of services
Ability to make clinical decisions
Clinical practice in a remote or digital health environment desirable
A passion for digital health, telehealth and telemedicine
Experience and knowledge in the principles of lifestyle medicine (Certification in Lifestyle Medicine BSLM Professional or Practitioner is desirable but not essential)Effective communication skills with patients and colleagues
Contribute to professional development and experiential learning
Healthcare professional registered with professional body in the UK (e.g. GPhC, NMC, HCPC etc)
Non-medical prescribing status essential
Have a background in general practice, primary care, secondary care or online health
Excellent command of spoken and written English and excellent IT skills
Interest or experience in weight management/ obesity treatment or health coaching is highly desirable
